    Morning Sickness

    • Morning sickness can vary from nausea to vomiting. Contrary to what the term implies, morning sickness can occur at any time of the day or night. A sudden aversion to certain smells also contributes to this symptom.

    Fatigue

    • Your body is busy providing support for both the mother and the fetus. This, along with hormone changes, can trigger fatigue. This usually lessens for most women in the second trimester and returns in the third trimester.

    Increased Urination

    • With hormone changes and uterine growth placing pressure on the bladder, many women notice increased urination as one of the first symptoms of pregnancy in the first trimester.

    Breast Changes

    • Changes in the breasts begin very early in pregnancy in an effort to begin preparations for breastfeeding. Increases in size and tenderness, sometimes even pain, are very common in the first trimester. Breast changes continue throughout the pregnancy.

    Moodiness

    • The large fluctuations in hormone levels, particularly in the first trimester, can cause moodiness in women similar to premenstrual syndrome. Women may cry very easily or become upset over situations that never bothered them prior to pregnancy.
