- The Georgia Guidestones is a 19-foot monument in Elberton County, Georgia. It is a system of six large tablets containing information written in several ancient languages as well as modern languages such as Russian and Spanish. On it are instructions to the survivors of an apocalyptic event on how to govern the world. The constructors of this monument are completely anonymous; it was commissioned in 1979 by a man using the pseudonym "R.C. Christian."
- These perfectly rounded balls carved from granodiorite are a complete mystery to archaeologists and historians. These balls are near ancient populated sites, suggesting they played an important role in community. The mystery is in how these balls appeared before granodiorite was ever mined miles away and then transported these many miles without horse or cattle, which didn't appear until Europeans settled in Costa Rica. Almost as mysterious is how these balls were carved without metal tools.
- We all know of the circular stone structure known as Stonehenge in England. Similar structures are in Ireland, Scotland and Wales. In 2007 a circular structure similar to these was found in the bottom of Lake Michigan. Scientists date this structure to a period before the Ice Age. One stone in particular that stands outside the circle has carvings of a mastadon, an ancient elephant-like creature.

The moai statues in Rapa Nui, otherwise known as Easter Island, are iconic. At least 288 of them once stood on large, stone platforms along the edge of the island, and 600 more are scattered throughout the island. Though most are 14 feet tall, the tallest is 33 feet, weighing over 80 tons. Though the true meaning of these statues is not known, archaeologists have suggested that they were part of an island ritual or are identified to an island clan.
