Pregnancy and Hemorrhoids

It is common for most pregnant women to suffer from hemorrhoids.
As a new mother, you might be wondering why this is the case.
Well, we can blame this on constipation.
It is the main reason why women during their pregnancy have hemorrhoids.
Aside from this, it can develop during labor.
This is due to the excessive straining during a normal delivery.
However, most of the time this problem subsides after giving birth.
But there are also other causes where you need to treat it before it goes away.
In addition to this, another cause is that during pregnancy the belly increases in size, thus making the vein walls weak.
Thankfully, there are ways to avoid this.
During the entire nine months, a mother should maintain a high hydration level.
This means drinking lots of water is necessary.
Avoid living heavy objects as well as sitting for a long period of time.
Also, increase your fiber intake.
An expecting mom should eat a lot of vegetables, fruits and grains.
This can be beneficial to your baby too.
Even though it is difficult to exercise when you are carrying another person inside your belly, exercising is still important.
Walking for a few minutes daily for about 10-20 minutes greatly helps your body.
If you cannot avoid sitting or standing for a long period of time, it is imperative to take breaks from time to time.
Taking walks in between will relieve the pressure in the rectal region.
Therefore, it minimizes the risk of getting hemorrhoids.
