Bedroom crafts for teenagers are a great way for your teen to personalize her space while making use of her down time between class, friends and family time. She does not need to be a blooming artist to add personal touches to her space. A few basic skills and a little time is all it really takes. - Use inexpensive scrapbook supplies such as pre-cut shapes and bead trim to turn an inexpensive lampshade into a one-of-a-kind showpiece. Use a hot glue gun to attach the trim to the edge of the shade and decoupage the shapes on in a random manner. Add gem stones for additional glitz.
- Everyone can use more storage. Go green and turn items around the house, such as fruit jars, plastic and wicker baskets, and milk crates into desk and bedroom accessories. Use scraps of ribbon and lace to trim the items. Add rhinestones, silk flowers and strings of beads. All purpose glue will attach adhere to most items.
- Slip a piece of cardboard into a pillow case. Cut shapes and letters out of colorful fabric and two-sided interface. Place the interface on the pillow, then the fabric, right side up. Cover with a piece of wax paper and iron according to the interface instructions. Remove wax paper. Use fabric paint to put a finished edge and details on the shapes. Slip in a pillow, and you have an accent pillow.
Another cool pillow option is to take a pair of shorts and sew or iron on funky appliques. Lay flat. Sew the waist closed. Sew one leg closed. Insert pillow stuffing into the other leg until the shorts pillow is as firm as you like. Sew final leg closed. - String an assortment of beads onto bead wire. Wrap the wire around a votive candle holder several times and secure in place with hot glue.
- Hang a large cork board or cork tile on the wall. Use scrapbooking materials to create picture frames for photos of friends and family. Pin the framed photos to the cork with decorative pins.
- Purchase a plain curtain valance. At the teen's next sleepover, provide friends with fabric pens, so they can write messages on the valance. Use a glue gun to attach trim or ribbon along the bottom. Better yet, the teens can make two to three inch bead strings. Leave about 1/2 inch of string unbeaded. Attached the bead strings to the bottom of the valance with glue. Cover the unbeaded part of the string with ribbon.
