How to Use Pantone Guides
- 1). Locate a Pantone distributor to pick one of the more than 1,100 colors from the Pantone Guide Book, which is held together with a small plastic bolt. The book itself fans out with the colors divided into color families, which makes it easier to pick the one just right for any project. The colors also have corresponding numbers.
- 2). Design any project from a Christmas card to the paint for the family room using the Pantone colors. Most of today's design programs have PMS color charts to choose from, including Adobe InDesign.
- 3). Give the PMS colors to a paint store, printer, artist or printing company to complete the job. Because the Pantone Matching System is universal, the company will know exactly what color you need.
