    • 1). Select a radical expression to convert. For example, convert (³√(2^2))^4) into exponent form by first simplifying the interior: 2^2 = 4, so you have (³√(4))^4).

    • 2). Create the fractional exponent by placing the index number in the denominator and the other exponent in the numerator: 4^(4/3).

    • 3). Check your answer by carefully entering (³√(4))^4) into your calculator for an answer of 6.34960418. Enter 4^(4/3) and verify that the answers match.
