How to Lean Far Back

    • 1). Stretch your muscles. Perform toe touches for one minute. Stretch your back by bracing your feet to the ground and twisting gently to the side back and forth. Doing so will loosen your back muscles, allowing a larger range of movement.

    • 2). Bend your knees slightly while keeping your legs shoulder width apart. Placing your feet shoulder width apart creates an even distribution of your weight over your body, which is essential for creating balance in your posture.

    • 3). Lean back slowly. As you begin to slowly fall backwards, lift your ankles up to raise upon your tip toes.

    • 4). Reach your hands over your shoulders as you go back slowly. Continue to bend your knees more until your finger tips touch the ground behind you. Stretch your arms out completely while lifting up on your back area.
