50 years ago traveling to other destinations around the world was a big thing.
If you were lucky enough or had the money then this was possible.
If not then traveling just to the next town would be the most exciting thing.
In the 21st century we have been lucky enough to have the chance to travel more freely to countries outside our home town, allowing us to learn more about the people in other countries, about their cultures and also visit the many magnificent and unique tourist attractions that many places have to offer.
There are generally 5 types of tourist attractions: 1.
Natural attractions and historic spots Some examples of great places to visit in this category are the pyramids in Egypt, the grand canyon in America, the Great wall of China, the 12 apostles in Australia and the Colosseum in Rome.
Natural attractions may also include medieval castles, emperor dwellings and mountains and rivers.
2.
Man made attractions These attractions are considered man made in the modern world and are also highly popular amongst travelers.
This type of attraction may include buildings like the Eiffel tower, theme parks such as the original Disneyland park in California, structures like the Golden Gate Bridge and Sydney Opera House.
3.
Nature and sceneries Tourist attractions included in this category are those such as zoos, aquaria and botanical gardens, where you can learn about animals and habitats.
In addition beaches and islands are a popular retreat and if you like you may also want to experience and see the Great Barrier Reef.
4.
Entertainment Entertainment tourist attractions are those that offer visitors something different than those already mentioned.
For example Las Vegas offers great entertainment for both the young and old.
Or you may want to visit Hong Kong or Bangkok for all your shopping needs.
Not to forget there are the great alps in Europe that are famous for their snow season.
Whatever your hobbies and interests are there are many great places around the world worth visiting.
Often tourist attractions are promoted in travel magazines, restaurants, radio, television and even billboards.
Some tourist attractions may charge a small fee for admission while others may be free of charge.
When planning your holiday trip you must research what you are interested in and the costs involved.
It is also not a surprise that these attractions will sell souvenirs, food and ornaments at a slightly inflated price so you consider this factor as well and be well prepared.
