    • 1). Set the Telecine box in a dimly lit room to reduce reflections and shadows.

A Telecine box is an enclosed projection system. It has a small opening on one side for a projector and a wide screen on the opposite side for the camera.

    • 2). Place the projector on a stable surface next to the Telecine box and point it into the projection opening.

    • 3). Check the focus for the projector by looking into the camera side of the box while the film is playing.

    • 4). Set the camcorder on a sturdy, stable tripod and narrow the focus to just the screen on the side of the Telecine box. Check the focus on the camcorder while the film is running.

    • 5). Ensure the camera, projector, and Telecine box are all level, otherwise the video will appear tilted to one side. Make sure there's enough room available in the camera's memory to hold the entire film.

    • 6). Rewind the film to the beginning, and start the camcorder recording. After a second or two, start the film. While the movie is playing, don't bump the table or disturb the projector. Those disturbances will show up in the final video.

    • 7). When the film finishes, pause the camcorder. Depending on the room in the camcorder's memory, several short films can be added in one session.

    • 8). After the recording is done, save the video to computer or DVD.
