    Coffee Mug

    • Make a personalized coffee mug for a dad's birthday. Purchase a plain coffee mug from a craft or home supply store. Provide children with nontoxic acrylic paint and paintbrushes and encourage them to create a design, draw a special picture or write a phrase on the coffee mugs. Children could draw a picture of themselves and their dad, print "Happy Birthday to a #1 Dad" on the mug or simply draw a pattern or design on the mug.

    Custom T-Shirt

    • Help your children design a custom T-shirt for their dad. Purchase a plain T-shirt in the dad's favorite color, as well as fabric paint. Place the fabric paint onto paper plates. Have children step barefoot in the fabric paint and press their footprints onto the front and back of the T-shirt. Use the fabric paint and a paintbrush to print "My Kids Walk All Over Me" on the front of the T-shirt.

    Dad's Coupon Book

    • Create a coupon book that dad can use for a break from his day-to-day household chores. Cut pieces of construction paper into rectangles and use markers to print a use on each coupon: mowing the lawn, taking out the garbage or sweeping the driveway, for instance. Draw pictures on the coupons to further embellish them. Make the coupons look official by writing an issue date on the bottom of them. Stack the coupons on top of one another and attach them together with staples along the left-hand side of the stack. Dad can cash in his coupons with his kids any time he likes.

    Organizer

    • Make an organizer for dad's birthday. Clean out and remove the label from a tin can or plastic jar. Have children cover the entire outside of the container with craft glue. They should then affix craft sticks to the outside of the container so that the bottom of the sticks are touching the bottom of the can and the top of the sticks are touching or overlapping the top of the can. Once the sticks are dried onto the can, have children use markers to write "Dad" on top of the sticks. Dad can use the organizer to hold pens and pencils, remote controls, nails and screws or anything else he'd like.
