How to Clean Patio Furniture
You don't want your uncle Lestor to slip and fall in the dog poop, and you don't want any of your new patio furniture to get all gross either.
Sadly, these are some of the tradeoffs you must make when setting your backyard up with furniture.
Especially if you have a dog! That being said, when choosing furniture that can stand up to the elements, you want to get something that is easily cleaned.
Plastic and aluminum are the easiest to clean, with wood and iron being harder, respectively.
In order to clean your furniture, simply take a damp rag with some soap and smack your girlfriend with it until she agrees to clean your furniture.
But seriously, just wipe down your furniture and that should do the trick.
Don't use bleach or any other corrosive liquids, as that could ruin any finish or paint job you have on your furniture.
For most dirt and stains, some water and Windex or soap is enough.
If you want your furniture to last for a REALLY long time, then you might want to consider buying some covers.
These are simply vinyl covers that you put on your furniture when you're not using it.
If you live in an area that is cold, or are coming up on winter, or for whatever reason don't go outside to use your furniture that often, you might want to consider picking some of these up.
Then again, if you don't go outside often enough to use your patio furniture, covering it is probably going to cause you to use it even less.
One of the problems with these furniture covers is that they get extremely dirty if left outside for too long.
Granted, that's the idea, but removing a filthy cover so you can sit on a questionably clean chair doesn't exactly make you want to get the most out of your outdoor patio furniture!
