Improvements all around are being made to Dubai's state-of-the-art Dubai World Central- Al Maktoum International Airport, so things have been moving quite swiftly, therefore it has not been accessible to the public for a year.
While no contracts have been approved as of yet with any charter jet corporations at the Dubai World Central airport, ideas are going ahead for the terminal's 2012 launch, and one such improvement is to their charter jet clientele, as they will soon be acquiring their own exclusive terminal.
The Dubai World Central (DWC) as well as Dubai International, headed by Paul Griffiths, CEO of Dubai Airports and the controller of the DWC, aims to open the airport to executive jet charter as well as commercial planes by 2012, seeing as of now the airport is mainly used for more sizable, full service carriers.
Looking forward to using the agreement and an endeavor with a leading charter jet company in Europe to make arrangements to facilitate executive charter even sooner, the DWC signed an agreement with Al Futtaim Services Company in December of 2010, authorizing for the advancement of their proposals for commercial aviation to take form.
The state's sizable tourist trade among other industries has made Dubai International Airport packed and continues to build up traffic, and with the added practicality of being able to charter a jet into the DWC, passengers are presented with more leeway and less hassle as travel through the nation.
Supplying smoother, more efficient trips is what the market needs to prosper, so Griffiths is certain that this problem is extremely time-sensitive, and has put a great deal of work and developing into ensuring that the materials are available to upgrade the accommodations at the airports.
Presently, 150 or so airlines fly in and out of Dubai International, but proposals are underway to expand and make space to take the excess at DWC, which only contains a single runway.
At the same time, they are creating plans for engineering support teams along with fire services, making sure that the facility will have everything it needs to run at full capacity when its development is completed.
Griffith fully believes that they are on schedule to have the new terminal operating next year, and expects that they will have a stronger idea of what to anticipate with more concrete expectations by October of this year seeing as this new initiative is coming along fairly fast, and are looking forward to be fully operational by 2012.
