How to Kill Mold & Mushrooms on an Asphalt Shingle Roof

1). Add 2 gallons of water to a plastic bucket. Pour 2 cups of oxygen bleach in the water. Mix together with a spoon until well dissolved.
2). Set a ladder against the side of the house where you will gain access to the roof. Ask a friend to hold the ladder steady as you climb up it.
3). Climb up the ladder carefully. Ask the friend holding the ladder steady to hand you up the bucket filled with the cleaning solution and the cleaning tools.
4). Hose the asphalt roof down with a water hose. Use the pressure from the water hose to push the mushrooms and surface mold off the roof.
5). Saturate a brush broom or scrub brush with an extension handle into the oxygen bleach mixture. Scrub the roof clean with the saturated broom or brush.
6). Let the mixture sit for 15 minutes before rinsing the roof clean with the water hose.
