Is the Prevention of Serious Illnesses Possible

So by now I think that you should know my personal feelings about what the NHS has to offer and more importantly what they do not have to offer.
If you still feel that we should all leave the responsibility of our own health to the NHS then that's fine by me but there are lot of us out there who are staring to question this, especially those who have had dealings with the NHS because of a serious illness.
I would not say that the NHS is crumbling but I personally believe that the NHS is not what it used to be and it is because of this that I want to make sure everyone is aware of the facts or at least other peoples experiences with the NHS when it comes to serious illnesses.
I admit that the government is not going to own up to the fact that maybe people should start to look at being more responsible for their own health as this would admit a failing in the NHS system, which is never going to happen, so if we continue to listen to our governments statistics (cooked or not) we may find ourselves facing an illness that was not diagnosed quickly enough.
It is this failing on both the government's part and the NHS part to even admit that the health system may not be all that it is cracked up to be that really annoys me.
If the NHS would even admit that they do not know everything, then at least we would avoid the situation where the NHS tells a seriously ill patient that there is nothing else that can be done and that patient accepts that fact that they are going to die and does nothing more about it.
If the NHS would say there is nothing more that THEY could do, rather than saying there is nothing anyone could do, then people may start to look at treatments outside of the NHS.
Of course the NHS will never say this as they do not believe in alternative treatments and you would struggle to find a doctor who admits that what we eat has an effect on our wellbeing, which is ridiculous if you think about it as all the cells in our bodies are created using nutrients, vitamins, minerals etc from the food we eat.
If we do not eat enough vitamin C, then we could get scurvy, so personally I think that this idea that what we eat has no effect on our health is totally ludicrous.
It is a known fact that during the lengthy training process that all doctors go through, the study of nutrition is optional and rarely taken up by those being trained, so we cannot count on doctors to understand the impact of our diet on our health.
So what do doctors say when we asked what has caused an illness? Well, those of you who have experienced a serious illness are probably better placed to answer that one but in my experience, the answer given by doctors are general along the lines of "We do not fully understand all of the causes of your illness and therefore we cannot say with any certainty what the exact cause is".
Of course, do not get me wrong, when I say that all serious illnesses are caused by what we eat as there are many medical conditions that are caused by defects in our genes, i.
e.
hereditary (passing, or capable of passing, naturally from parent to offspring through the genes) but we cannot blame all medical conditions on genetic disorders.
In fact, I am sure that only a very very small percentage of medical condition can be attributed to our genes and therefore the majority of medical conditions can therefore be attributed to something else.
By not being able to identify the cause of a serious illness makes is nearly impossible for the NHS to look at prevention.
If we could all start to look at prevention then the world would be a better place and it is one of my aims of these articles to help people understand prevention by publishing research that I have performed over the past 5 years that I believe can help people who want to prevent serious illnesses.
There is a lot of research that has been done on the impact of toxins on our bodies.
Mercury for one has been linked to autism and yet amalgam fillings (the grey fillings that dentist normally put in our teeth) contain mercury and yet Mercury is known to be very very toxic to our bodies.
I truly believe that a lot of the problems we encounter today with our health can be attributed to the toxic world that we live in today and the quality of the food that we eat.
In following articles, I will talk about why the world is becoming more toxic and the effects these toxins have on our bodies and more importantly how we can reduce our toxic in-take and therefore give our bodies a better chance of working properly.
