Video: How to Make Crocheted Circles
Video Transcript
Good day, I'm Renaissance Austin, Owner of Raghouse International Boutique. And today, we're making a basic crochet circle. Let's start our basic circle. We're going to chain four and we're going to insert our hook in the very first chain to create our circle. From here, we're going to chain three, this is the basic method of starting any circle and we're going to create 11 double crochet in the center of our circle. And so, I'm going to work this all the way around and with my chain three that I started with, that will be 12 total. Here's my 12 double crochet, now it's time to start round two. And remember, when you're working in circles, it's always rounds and not rows. We're going to chain three and we're going to double each stitch. So, our first round is 12, our second round is going to be 24. So, I'm going to add an additional stitch in my very first stitch and we're just going to continue by increasing two. We're going to put another one there and I'm going to continue in this pattern all the way around my circle. This is increasing the circle. And see those two, that's two. Now, we're at the end of our circle; to close you're going to insert your hook and then chain three space and slip stitch. Now, it's time for round three. Again, we're going to chain three and our pattern is going to change just a little bit. Now, it's going to be double, singe, double. So, that's two there and in our next stitch, we're only going to put one double crochet. Our next stitch will be two and then the next stitch after that will be one and you're going to, and you're going to continue in this stitch pattern all the way around. Once you're to the end of round three, you're going to create your last double crochet and again, we will close by inserting our hook in the chain three space and slip stitching close. And this is what your basic circle will look like. Always remember that round one is 12, round two is 24 and round three is 36. And that's how you make a crochet circle. Thank you for watching, I'm Renaissance Austin, Knitwear Designer.
