Lakota Face Paint
- 1). Choose your desired colors and purchase face paints from a local craft store. Ancient Lakotas were limited to colors they could make from twigs and berries, so stick to red, yellow, blue, white or green for an authentic look.
- 2). Apply color to your cheeks using your index finger. Draw the shape of a buffalo, lightning bolt, arrow or horse.
- 3). Apply paint to your forehead, if you desire. You may make small circles in white to signify peace, or red to warn of war.
