- 1). Put a soft towel on a table. Unscrew the battery cap from the back end of the flashlight. Remove the battery cap. Remove the batteries from the battery compartment. Dispose of the battery cap in the trash. Dispose of the batteries properly.
- 2). Remove the reflector from the front end of the flashlight. Remove the retaining ring from the front end of the flashlight. Push the plastic lens out of the reflector using your fingers. Dispose of the plastic lens.
- 3). Unscrew the incandescent bulb from the front end of the flashlight. Dispose of the incandescent bulb properly.
- 4). Clamp the jaws of the needle nose pliers around the front edge of the bulb assembly in the front end of the flashlight.
- 5). Pull the bulb assembly out of the front end of the flashlight. Dispose of the bulb assembly.
- 6). Screw the LED into the front end of the LED screw-in base.
- 7). Insert the LED screw-in base into the front of the flashlight with the LED facing out.
- 8). Put the retaining ring back onto the front end of the flashlight. Put the reflector back onto the front end of the flashlight.
- 9). Insert two "N" batteries into the back end of the flashlight. Screw the tailcap switch upgrade cap onto the back end of the flashlight.

Aim the torch light you have now made at a far wall. Press the button on the back of the tailcap switch upgrade cap to illuminate the LED and project a beam of light at the far wall.
