Information on Kanaga the Volcano
- Kanaga Volcano measures approximately 4,288 feet high and nearly three miles in diameter. The volcano is cone-shaped and has steep sides. The summit has a crater measuring approximately 650 feet wide and 165 to 230 feet deep.
- As of September 2010, Kanaga Volcano has not erupted since 1995, according to the U.S. Geological Survey Publications. The Alaska Volcano Observatory notes that volcanic activity also occurred on June 11, 1996. Kanaga Volcano has erupted at least 10 times in the past 250 years.
