How to String Lifesavers
- 1). Put several handfuls of Lifesavers in a bowl. If there is more than one child participating in this craft, supply a bowl to each child--this helps to prevent fighting among younger children.
- 2). Cut string into various lengths. This way you can make either necklaces or bracelets. Another item that you can string the Lifesavers on is shoelace licorice so that you can eat the "string" of the Lifesaver as well.
- 3). Slide Lifesavers on the string or licorice strand, one at a time. Young children may need help with this step. Alternate colors and try to create designs with the Lifesavers. This step teaches young children eye-hand coordination.
- 4). Tie the string or licorice strand together at the end when it is mostly covered with Lifesavers. You may have to assist younger children with this step, but older children should be able to do this just fine. Let the children wear their new necklaces and eat them.
