How to Remove Mineral Buildup From Hair
- 1). Wet your hair and squeeze a dime-sized amount of shampoo into you palm. Apply the shampoo to your hair and work it into a lather. Let the shampoo sit in your hair for 5 to 10 minutes or as per the instructions on the bottle to ensure the build up has been thoroughly removed. Rinse and repeat.
- 2). Apply a deep conditioner to your hair. Divide your hair into four sections and apply a quarter- to a palm-sized amount of conditioner to each section from root to tip. Use a shower comb to evenly distribute the conditioner throughout your hair. Place a plastic cap over your hair and sit under a warm-hooded dryer or heating cap for 10 to 15 minutes or as per the instructions on the bottle. Rinse your hair after doing this.
- 3). Apply a leave-in conditioner. Towel blot your hair and separate it into four sections. If using a creamy leave-in conditioner, apply a quarter-sized amount per section from root to tip. Use a styling comb to evenly distribute the conditioner. If using a spray leave-in conditioner, spray each section until slightly damp. Use a styling comb to evenly distribute the conditioner. Style your hair as usual.
