Staying Occupied During Road Trips

If you are anything like me you like to keep occupied during long road trips.
Nothing can quite as boring as endless, tedious hours on America's highways with nothing to keep you company but the sound of the engine.
With that in mind I would like to suggest a few ways to pass the time as you drive towards you destination.
First things first.
Listen to the radio! You don't always have to listen to music either.
I find that talk radio or a good audio book will really keep my mind focused, but not cause too much distraction as I drive.
It's hard to imagine a better way to get your reading in then while you are stuck in traffic.
Just think, if you have a 30 minute commute, you can get an hour or "reading" done each day! In no time at all you will be able to get through even the longest of books.
Another great way to pass the time is to play mind games.
We are all familiar with "punch buggy" or "I spy," but my favorite car game is one that I, if not invented, then at least have never heard of otherwise.
The game involves one member of the car thinking of a famous person and having other passengers guess the identity of the person through a series of yes or no questions.
Start with "It this person a male?" and perhaps end up with "Was this person ever married to Elvis' daughter?" The possibilities to this game, and others like it, are endless, and they really can eat up the clock on those long boring road trips!
