Should You Use the Telephone With Your Internet Business

After over 20 years as an outside sales rep getting away from the telephone was very appealing to me.
As a matter of fact it was one of the things that motivated me to start a profitable Internet home business of my own.
The question that I have for you is should you use the telephone with your Internet business? I'm sure that will depend on the type of business that you have.
Obviously if you run a retail business online you may have customer service issues that require you or someone to answer the phone.
But what about if you sell primarily information products or something with instant access? Would there be some benefit to having your phone number available! What I have found in my own personal situation is I include my Skype name to my mailing list and on my website and blog.
I use Skype to talk to people all over the world and I really like it.
If someone wants to take the time to contact me and request some of my time I will almost always provide it.
Although the use of video and audio is personalizing the Internet more than it was even a couple of years ago, there is something about interacting with prospects and customers that you can not get just from those forms of contact.
Certainly if you are in a home business such as two-tier affiliate marketing or network marketing you may want to to talk on the phone.
These are industries that seemed to thrive on social networking and personal training.
I know I can not answer the question, should you use the telephone with your Internet business, for you.
This is a personal choice you will have to make, but understand that your competitors may not be willing to do this and it could give you a leg up on them, leading to additional success and more income.
