How to Kill Sawgrass in Your Yard
- 1). Loosen the ground around the sawgrass by digging the blades up with a spade. Dig the roots up as well as the blades.
- 2). Remove as much loosened sawgrass as possible by gathering it with your hands and placing in a trash bag. Make sure to wear protective gardening gloves.
- 3). Saturate the entire area with herbicide, found in gardening stores and online. Adjust the specific type of herbicide you use according to which plants are nearby the area. Check the label of the herbicide to see which types of plants are safe and which are not.
