Chevrolet Motor Co. was founded in 1911 by Louis Chevrolet, a race car driver, and William Durant, a former General Motors executive. In 1912, the company introduced its first vehicle called the "Classic Six." - General Motors logo.
After Chevrolet Motor Co. became successful, Louis Chevrolet left the company and sold his interest to William Durant. Durant soon formed a partnership with General Motors and Chevrolet became a subsidiary of GM in 1918. - Introducing the 1953 Chevrolet corvette.
