Why Can"t the Democrats Admit They Are Addicted to Socialist Spending?
In late September 2013 CSPAN hosted a speech to the media given by the Honorable Senator Nancy Pelosi.
In case, you don't remember her, she is the person who said: You will just have to vote for it to see what's in it.
She was speaking about the ObamaCare Bill, Affordable Health Care Act.
A law we know is not affordable at all, and although it was deemed Constitutional.
Let's talk shall we as it was also deemed a tax as it made it mandatory for everyone to have health care insurance or enroll in ObamaCare, and if you failed you'd find an added bill on your taxes, and if you enrolled and lied about your income the IRS would come after you for falsifying your tax return.
The House of Representatives put forth a bill to defund ObamaCare in order to allow the government to live within its means, and also spare the American People from this "disaster" as the head of the largest union in the United States called it.
Nancy Pelosi told reporters that these were two separate issues, one was the importance of the US Credit Rating (I presume because without a strong credit rating socialist leaning politicians would have to stop spending) and need to maintain the strength of our word; the full faith and credit of the US Government.
Okay but, if she and her Democrat friends really believe that then they would have stopped over spending years the prior, cut back on impossible promises made to the masses in social services and payments (often promised to get votes, guaranteeing re-election).
Indeed, I find it rather ironic that the Democrats point figures at the Republicans and use choice words when describing the Tea Party insinuating that they are a virus in the Republican Party, and like kidnappers and pirates are "holding the American People" ransom in their attempts to defund ObamaCare, that 2200 page law that was passed that no one had time to read.
Well, the lawmakers now have read it, and what was in it, was not what the American People were told, now everyone is mad, and it is altering employment patterns, stifling growth and hurting our nation's future.
What I don't understand is how Nancy Pelosi can denigrate the duly elected members of the Tea Party, call them names, and not admit her own party's spend thrift ways.
Indeed, I'd like every American to consider that and think it over, because if our government cannot operate better than this, it isn't serving anyone except the abusers of the system.
