How to Find Reverbs on Audacity
- 1). Go to the Audacity website (see Resources) and download the program if you do not have it already. Download the Beta version for Windows 98, ME, 2000, XP, Vista and 7 Operating Systems. Open Audacity.
- 2). Download the VST Enabler. This allows you to install effect plug-ins for Audacity. Go to the Audacity Team website (see Resources), and click the "Download" link. Install the file, and paste its file folder and contents into the "Plug-Ins" directory. This is located in "My Computer > C Drive > Program Files > Audacity > Plug-Ins."
- 3). Download a reverb VST plug-in. Go to the Free Sound Editor website, and choose a reverb plug-in (See Resources.) Select your operating system, and download the plug-in. Choose an extraction location, and unzip the file. Find the extracted file, right-click and select "Cut." This file has an extension of .dll.
- 4). Install the plug-in. Go to the Plug-Ins directory folder of Audacity. Paste the file into the Plug-Ins folder. Right-click and select "Paste."
- 5). Use the reverb effect. Go to the "Effects" tab on the top toolbar of Audacity, and select the newly installed effect. Go to "File > Open" to load an audio file to edit. Go to "File > Save" and save any edits that are made to your track.
