Video Transcript
Hi, my name is Tammy Neisinger. I am with Sew Be It Sewing. Today, I'm going to show you how to use a rotary cutter. You will need a rotary cutter mat, ruler and a rotary cutter. A rotary cutter is use to, to even up your fabric and so would lay a ruler over the top of your fabric on your cutting mat, line it up with the lines and apply pressure and cut along the ruler. And there, you would get a nice straight edge and straighten up your fabric. If you are a clothier and you need clothing strips, you would take a strip of fabric and lay it on the lines, line it up with the lines on your cutting mat and if you would like a two-inch strip, you would lay your ruler at the two-inch for two inches. Take your rotary cutter, apply pressure, push down, cut through and now you have, and if it does not cut all the way through, you miss a spot, you can take a pair of scissors and cut. And that is how you use a rotary cutter.
