How to Cut Swiftlock Flooring
- 1). Measure and mark the underside of the Swiftlock plank you need to cut to fit on the floor using a tape measure and pencil. Use a yardstick or ruler to ensure the line is straight.
- 2). Adhere a piece of painter's tape abutting the drawn line on the underside of the Swiftlock plank; do not cover the line. This will prevent any flaking or chipping when you make the cut.
- 3). Attach a carbide blade to a jigsaw or circular saw. Do not use a wood cutting or other cutting blade as each will damage and split the Swiftlock.
- 4). Put on eye protection and a dust mask.
- 5). Cut the Swiftlock floor plank, following the drawn line on the underside of the plank with the circular saw or jigsaw. Cut only on the underside to further prevent chipping or splitting. Cutting on the top may cause the plank to become jagged at the edge.
