How to Mount a Bathroom Mirror

    • 1). Measure and mark the length and width of the wall where you will mount your bathroom mirror. Try to position the mirror so the corners of the mirror land on a stud behind the drywall.

    • 2). Screw a fancy 1-inch mounting hook into each of the top corners where you placed your marks. Use a screwdriver, or a screw gun, and tighten the screws so the mounts are secure. Mounting hooks come in plastic, metal, marble, and many other materials. Most mounting hooks are about 1-inch by 1-inch.

    • 3). Apply globs of Mirror Mastic all over the back of your mirror, staying 3 inches away from the edges. The mirror adhesive comes in a caulking gun and can be squirted out in small mounds.

    • 4). Insert the mirror under the lips of both of the upper mounting hooks, and press the mirror firmly against the wall. The mastic adhesive will create its own suction. The adhesive dries quickly, within 2 hours.

    • 5). Have someone hold the mirror in place while you screw in the lower two mounting hooks. Place the lips of the hooks up under the lower edge of the mirror and screw them tightly in place. Although the mastic will hold the mirror adequately until it dries, the hooks give the mirror extra holding strength.
