Also known as €Simla', Shimla is the capital of the north Indian state of Himachal Pradesh. It is bordered by Mandi and Kullu on the north, Kinnaur in the east, Uttrakhand in south east and Solan and Sirmaur in the south. This city is named as the heart of India's tourism as it is listed among the top 10 preferred cities as tourist destinations. Functioning as the heart of tourism, the city is well connected to other hubs and cities as it enables airways transportation for people to visit out of the city and the Shimla flights take people to various destinations of their choice and on return, they can easily get flights to Shimla.

The city is filled with numerous places that are accountable for attracting tourists in large numbers and travelers from all over the world visit this city. Some of the very well known places of this city include the mall road, which is regarded as the most important shopping center here and comprises of many restaurants, clubs, banks, bars, post offices and tourist offices. Also, a famous theatre known as the Gaiety theatre is situated on the mall road. Christ Church is another tourist attracting place which is situated on the ridge, and it is the second oldest church of northern India. The infrastructure of this church is magnificent and within the church are stained glass windows that symbolize faith, hope, charity, fortitude, patience and humility. At a distance of 2 km from the city is a hill known as Jakhu Hill which is the highest peak with a height of about 8000 feet and it illustrates a beautiful scene of the city and of the Himalayas that are enclosed with snow.

A historical museum known as the Shimla State Museum has tried to guard the hill out and the cultural wealth of the state. This museum contains a collection of miniature Pahari paintings, sculptures, bronzes wood carvings, and along with this, some costumes, textiles and jewelry of the region. Annandale is a developed playground of this city which is located just 2-4 km from the ridge and is at a height of about 6,117 feet. Although this is a playground, it is not used for playing as it comes under the administration of the Indian army. However, the ground is very beautifully made and it is a very large ground in terms of its size. A chief developing suburb of this city known as Totu is located on NH-88. This suburb encloses Jutogh railway station and Himfed under the government of Himachal Pradesh. There are many more places that attract tourists all around the world and this encourages the city to be well connected to other cities through all ways including the airways as the Shimla flights enable people to move in and out of the city without any problem and also from various other destinations, flights to Shimla are available.
