    • 1). Choose a credit monitoring service. All three credit bureaus--Experian, Equifax and TransUnion--offer monthly credit monitoring for a fee. This allows you to view your credit history online any time you wish and receive notifications if any of your credit information changes.

    • 2). Visit AnnualCreditReport.com and request a copy of your free annual credit report online. You must provide identifying information about yourself in order to access your credit history.

    • 3). Visit ftc.com/credit and download an Annual Credit Report Request Form. Fill out the form and mail it to:

      P.O. Box 105281
      Atlanta, Georgia 30348-5281

      A copy of your credit history will be mailed to you within 15 days after the letter is received.

    • 4). Call 1-877-322-8228 to request a copy of your free annual credit report. After answering a series of questions concerning your identity and your debts, a copy of your credit history will be mailed to you within 15 days.
