A Look at Modern Ilford, Essex
It was in fact here that some very interesting remains of mammoth large tusked animals were found.
Then during the time of the Saxons the place was converted into a hamlet and the name for this hamlet owes its origins to the Doomsday Book.
In the seventeenth century there were a mere sixty homes in Ilford, Essex and each was situated very close to the other.
Then in the nineteenth century the Great Eastern Railway appeared and the hamlet grew in size and has continued to grow since then.
Today, there is much to do in this lovely English locale including some delightful restaurants and bars such as the famous Caraway and Co-Co Noodle Bar.
You can also enjoy Indian, Thai and Italian foods and in addition there are a few places (Que Pasa) where you can eat Spanish food and Red Corner which serves up Chinese dishes.
If you love to Tango or do the Foxtrot or you like ballroom dancing then you won't find Ilford a very interesting place.
However, if you are someone that loves pop music or want to enjoy vibrant nightlife then there are many places here that are worth visiting.
For example, you would do well to check out Faces Nightclub or Room at the Top that are really great places to let your hair down.
If you wish to take the tube or you want to reach Ilford by coach or train then you will need to get off at Barkingside tube station or get off at Fairlop or even Gants Hill; it all depends on where you plan to go next.
You can get off at Ilford station if you are coming by Ilford Station that is located in the center of Ilford.
For coach service you would do well to check out National Express and you should alight at Golders Green or even at Victoria and from there you can take the tube to Ilford.
