How to Sew a Sleeping Bag for 18 Dolls
- 1). Measure and cut a rectangle of fleece fabric that is 15 inches wide by 16 inches long (piece A). Measure and cut another rectangle of fleece fabric that is 15 inches wide by 30 inches long (piece B). Lay them on the work table in front of you with the 15-inch edges close to you and the wrong sides of the fabric facing up.
- 2). Fold down the top edge of each piece of fabric by 1/2 inch toward the wrong side and pin in place using straight pins. Stitch a straight seam along this folded-down edge using your sewing machine and coordinating thread.
- 3). Fold down the top edge of piece B by another 6 inches and pin in place along both sides. Turn this piece over so it is right side up.
- 4). Align the bottom edges of piece A and piece B and put A on top of B with their right sides facing one another. Pin together along the sides and sew a straight seam along both long sides and the bottom edge. Trim off the corners on the bottom edges at an angle using scissors.
- 5). Turn the sleeping bag right side out so it resembles a flat bed with an attached blanket on top. Stuff a few handfuls of stuffing material inside the pillow portion through the open seam on the back. Stitch the bottom seam of the pillow closed to contain the stuffing and slide the doll into her sleeping bag.
