How to Lose Weight Overnight
- 1). Stop eating at least 3 hours before you go to sleep. If you go to bed on an empty stomach, you are more likely to weigh less when you wake up. Your body doesn't digest food as efficiently when you sleep. If you don't have food in your stomach overnight, you won't wake up with undigested food in your system.
- 2). Get cardiovascular exercise 2 to 3 hours before you go to bed. After exercise, your metabolism will be elevated, helping you to burn calories more efficiently. This means you will burn more calories overnight than you would if you hadn't exercised.
- 3). Drink water. Water helps to flush toxins from your system, cleansing your body.
- 4). Avoid carbohydrates. Though your body digests simple carbohydrates quickly, it takes longer to digest more complex carbohydrates like starches. In fact, your body cannot digest cellulose, a very complex carbohydrate, at all. As a result, you will weigh more in the morning. Carbohydrates also absorb water, making you weigh slightly more due to water content. Even after they are digested, carbohydrates are converted to glucose and then to fat. If you want to lose weight overnight, do not eat carbohydrates during the day. Instead, opt for low-carb, high-protein foods. The protein-rich foods will also curb your appetite.
- 5). Sip green tea before bed. Green tea boosts your metabolism, helping you to burn calories more effectively. In addition to a cup before bed, aim to drink between 3 to 5 cups daily.
