    Cleaning the Stamps for Donation

    • 1). Clean them every time you use the stamps. If you don't clean them every time you stamp, clean and examine each one before you donate them to make sure each one can still stamp.

    • 2). Prepare a damp cellulose sponge with a few drops of dish soap on it. Use the sponge to remove excess dirt and ink from the Chunky stamp.

    • 3). Blot the stamp a few times with a paper towel to dry it.

    Donating

    • 1). Call an organization or refer to an organization's website to check if they are accepting donations.

    • 2). Donate to your local Boys and Girls Club. This organization is an after-school program which offers safe activities for children. Go to bgca.org for a list of local clubs or e-mail them at info@bgca.org for general inquiries.

    • 3). Give your items to your local YMCA. The YMCA is a place for children to go after school and during the summer with opportunities for different activities. Go to their website at ymca.net to find your local YMCA. Or call the organization at 800-872-9622.

    • 4). Take your items to a local Salvation Army, Goodwill or other local thrift store. Both organizations help people who are facing employment challenges get back on their feet with job training and placement. You can find Salvation Army locations at salvationarmyusa.org or email them at: NHQ_Webmaster@usn.salvationarmy.org. Go to their website: rmhc.org to search for a local chapter. You can also e-mail them at info@rmhc.org or call them at 630-623-7048.

    • 6). Take the stamps to a local retirement home, hospital, after-school program, a women's shelter, school or your local church. These organizations can use the donated stamps for future art projects. Sometimes, these places are cash-strapped and will take any donations that are offered.
