If the tooth has fully developed then the process is the same as for any other tooth removal. Wisdom teeth pain occurs when the teeth are beneath the gum and embedded in the jawbone. In such a case, the tooth in question will be removed in small sections rather in a single shot. This is on the grounds that the jawbone should not be affected in any way. At the time of removal the teeth and the tissues surrounding it will be numbed with a local or general anesthetic depending on what the doctor recommends ensuring no pain during the process.

Decay and infection are the most common problems that occur when teeth are not looked after properly. Gum problems are another problem to watch out when wisdom teeth come out.

If the tooth or teeth are under the tissue, a radiograph helps in identifying that.
