How to Calculate Lost Weight
- 1). Weigh yourself on a scale to establish a base weight. To be more accurate, weigh yourself before breakfast, lunch and dinner, then, take the average of the three weights. This is your base weight.
- 2). Weigh yourself again when you wish to calculate weight loss. Use the three-weight-average method if you wish. This weight is referred to as current weight in step 3.
- 3). Subtract your current weight from your starting weight. The equation for this is:
Weight Lost= (starting weight) - (current weight). - 4). Divide the weight lost by your starting weight and then multiply by 100 to find your percentage of weight lost. The equation for this is: percent weight lost= (weight lost / starting weight) x 100.
Record the data in a journal to track weight loss for different time intervals.
