How to Make a Teardrop Bridal Bouquet With Roses & Lilies
- 1). Fill the bottom of the bucket with liquid flower food. Place the bouquet holder in the bucket and let it soak in the solution overnight.
- 2). Fill the bottom of a vase with marbles. Place the bouquet holder in the vase to create a stable work surface.
- 3). Insert six long pieces of floral greenery radially into the sides of the foam of the bouquet holder. These pieces will determine the dimensions of the bouquet. One piece of greenery should match the desired length of the bottom of the teardrop shape. The other five pieces should be shorter and of the desired size of the top and sides of the bouquet. Together, the six pieces form a frame that will dictate the bouquet's finished appearance.
- 4). Add more greenery pieces to the foam, making sure that they fit into the frame made by the original six pieces. Trim the ends of the pieces with scissors whenever it's necessary to make them better fit into the bouquet holder. You still need space to add the flowers, so do not overfill the bouquet holder with greenery. Instead, position the greenery so that it creates a loose dome shape.
- 5). Insert a rose that is slightly shorter than the longest piece of greenery that formed the bottom of the original frame above that specific piece of greenery. Insert a lily into the center of the bouquet. These two flowers create a line along which the remaining flowers will be staggered.
- 6). Fill in the rest of the bouquet with the remaining roses and lilies. The flowers should face outward from the center in different directions, rather than only facing the front of the bouquet. However, they must also fit into the original frame created by the greenery and not be lower than the first placed rose at the bottom or lily at the top. Check the appearance of the bouquet frequently to ensure that it fits into your aesthetic plan.
- 7). Fill in any extra spaces with more floral greenery or other small flowers. The final bridal bouquet should be full, rounded and without any sizable gaps between flowers and greenery.
