So you want to become an actor? Here are 4 ways to get you started.
Audition, audition, audition and audition.
Really, you just need to jump into the game.
And the only way to do that is by attending auditions for acting.
That really is the name of the game.
Audition, audition, audition and audition.
But let us be practical in the business sense.
To become an actor you need a few tools of the trade to help get you started.
To become an actor you need 4 things at your disposal.
And they are the following: 1.
You need to have a head shot.
Pictures are what sell you to a talent agent as well as to casting directors.
You want your head shots to present you at your best.
Your head shot photos will represent you as a certain type of character or characters that will help you get the part.
At the least, your head shot will get you auditions for acting.
2.
You need to have a resume.
In the beginning if you do not have any credits to speak of, it is all right to say you are just getting started with your acting career.
Everyone needs to start somewhere.
List your training.
The classes you have taken.
As well as classes you are currently attending.
List small parts you performed when you were younger.
An example of this would be the following: I joined the choir when I was in my early teens.
And our group performed around our community at different functions throughout the school year.
So music is very important to me.
There is a television series that is currently on, "Glee.
" Now if a casting director realizes that you are musically inclined, you might be a candidate for the show.
Perhaps you might get a spot as a guest star? Another example would be the following: I first caught the acting bug when I was very young.
I was asked to play an angel in the Christmas pageant at school when I was ten.
And I have wanted to do more acting ever since, only I didn't have the opportunity until now.

You need to get out there and audition.
Every chance you get.
Go and attend auditions for acting.
The more you attend auditions for acting the more chances you have of landing the part.
Get involved with the acting community.
Join an actors group.
Check out the Hollywood trade magazines to see what roles might be out there for you to audition for.

You need a talent agent who will represent you.
When searching for a talent agent, keep in mind that you want to find one who will work with you to become an actor.
