Buy a medium metal alligator hair clip that's at lest two inches in size for the base of the rose hair bow. - 2). Choose a faux rose and decorative ribbon that complements the color of the rose. Also, pay attention to the texture of the ribbon and choose according to your personal style. For instance, a red rose paired with ivory silk ribbon will have a different look than a red rose paired with black velvet ribbon. Mix and match until you find the combination you like.
- 3). Tie the piece of decorative ribbon into a bow, as if you were tying your shoes. The bow should measure a half inch larger than the diameter of the faux flower so that it can be seen beneath it. For instance, if the faux flower measures two inches across, the bow should be two and a half inches wide.
- 4). Glue the center of the decorative ribbon bow onto the wide end of the alligator hair clip using a hot glue gun. Wait fifteen minutes for it to dry.
- 5). Remove any plastic lining, including leaves, from the back side of the faux rose using a pair of scissors. This will expose the fabric of the flower which will better adhere to the bow.
- 6). Place a dime-sized dot of hot glue onto the center of the back side of the rose and then stick it onto the hair clip in the center of the decorative bow. This will create the second layer of the hair piece. Hold it in place for thirty seconds as the glue hardens.
- 7). Grab a single rhinestone using a pair or tweezers and dip it into fabric glue. Then place it carefully onto the faux flower. Continue adorning the rose hair bow until you're satisfied.
