Adventure Getaway to Endau Rompin Malaysia

The phrase that strikes deep into my heart about Endau Rompin is "The Blood Donation Drive".
Though Endau Rompin is probably the nearest national park to Singapore, it is not as popular as a weekend getaway destination compared to its counterparts.
Why? Firstly, it is quite inaccessible.
You will need a 4-wheel drive, passing through plantations to bring you to the entrance of the park.
Secondly, it does not have any famous or high gunung (mountain) to offer you a good view of the scenery.
Thirdly, being in the low-lands area, you have to be well-covered or be prepared to contribute in the blood donation drive - to the leeches.
But despite all that have been said, the experience is well worth the trouble and the "lost of blood" and I would recommend the "adventurous" to visit the park as a weekend getaway destination.
Being inacessible has helped to maintain the park in its wilderness form, and allowing the rare animals and plants to grow in its natural form.
Endau Rompin is tropical rainforest, interwined with crooks and nooks.
The first river that you would come upon is probably Sungai Jasin.
Though the water may be just at your knee level, do not underestimate the flow of the current as it is enough to sweep you off your feet.
Never cross the river on a rainy day.
Most people camped out at Kuala Marong, with beautiful fireflies that lit up the night, and curious animals that will come visiting at night.
Water supply is not so dependable, but there is always water from the river.
The most famous feature of Endau Rompin National Park is probably Buaya Sangkut.
Named after a legend about a crocodile, the trek to the waterfall is slightly challenging but definitely manageable.
The view is definitely worth all the trouble as the waterfall measured 300 m tall and is extremely magnificent.
You find yourself a small and insignificant in face of the roaring waterfall.
In contrast, the top of the waterfall is peaceful and tranquil and one would never guessed the tempest it could create below.
Another sanctuary at Endau Rompin National Park is Tasik Biru (Blue Lagoon).
Quiet and calm water that will cool you down on a hot day and reflects a beautiful shade of turquoise.
The National parks in Malaysia should never be explored without the natives - the Orang Asli in mind.
Orang Asli who knows every crook and nooks of the forest, every leaf and every root.
The creeks and rivers are both their shower room and playground.
They do not need a full gear or a backpack full of sustenance.
All they need is a knife and the shirt on their back.
They do not take more than what they need from nature, and they do not leave behind any mess and hinder nature.
