How to Make Your Body a Fat Burning Machine

You should see the reactions people give when I say they should eat their weight off. What expressions! Then I explain to them how starvation diets don't work and why they and millions of other people are still struggling to lose weight and keep it off.

Numbers posted by the National Center for Health Statistics show that more than 34 percent of Americans are obese, compared to 32.7 percent who are overweight.

American population is confused out of shape and more fat than ever because of today's promises of fast results and easy to do diets. The key words are fast and easy to do diets: do yourself a favor and eliminate those words from your vocabulary and close your ears to that stuff. Instead, consider initiating an efficient eating plan.

An eating plan gives you a strategic program designed to implement all the important aspects of proper nutrition with complete balance.

It is important to consume only the necessary caloric intake your body needs, while receiving the adequate amounts of carbohydrates, lean proteins, fats, and water, all of which are very important in attaining your weight loss goals. This is why the three-meal-a-day myth is old-fashioned and out-dated. It is very difficult to consume the calories and nutrients needed for successful weight control by eating only three meals a day.

If you really want to lose weight, you must consume four to six smaller meals a day. Eating only three meals, a day is proven to make you a fat-storing machine instead of a fat-burning machine.

There are four reasons why eating properly is so very important:

(1) It increases your metabolism by preventing your body from going into starvation mode,

(2) It gives your body the energy required to perform its daily activities,

(3) It maintains or increases muscle mass to help shape and tone, and

(4) It gives your body the necessary nutrients to survive.

Essentially, eating can make or break your chances of changing your body. Every day I pose these important questions to my clients: Did you eat breakfast this morning? Did you consume three square meals and two-three snacks today? Did you eat enough protein? Did you consume enough energy foods i.e. complex carbohydrates for your workout today? Ideally, they answer yes to all these questions, because if they did, it is a positive indicator as to how well they are implementing their eating plan to change their bodies.
