Get Two Free Days on a Magical Greek Island
Despite all their economic problems Greece is still one of the most beautiful places to visit with crystal clear seas, beautiful beaches and delightful waterside tavernas.
Corfu, much maligned by the uninformed, offers one of the most beautiful regions in all of Greece - the North East region stretching from Nissaki to San Stephanos.
Here you will find some of the most amazing beaches, first class cuisine and stunning scenery without a football shirt in sight - unless worn by a Russian oligarch! This part of Greece is particularly easy to get to and I'm going to tell you how you can book a nine-day holiday in a lovely two bedroom villa with your own private pool for the same price as a seven-day holiday.
For many years it was just the standard charter operators that served the Greek islands and that restricted holidays to one or two-week durations.
Then along came the low-cost airlines and it all changed.
Now, with the likes of Easyjet, Ryan Air, BMI Baby and Jet 2 flying to Corfu, Crete, Rhodes and Athens it is possible to book odd duration flights and stay for nine, ten or eleven days often at a lower price than a seven or fourteen day stay.
Hotels will always allow odd duration stays and any day arrival but many villa companies still stick to one or two-week stays with a fixed arrival day.
However some are beginning to embrace the concept of odd durations including Spirit of Greece who allow any day arrival and any duration for their range of Corfu villas.
To illustrate the possible savings, at the time of writing, Easyjet had a flight from Gatwick to Corfu departing on the Monday 30th July and returning on Monday 6th August (one week) 2012 at £275 per person.
Monday is the traditional arrival day for Corfu and so is usually the most expensive.
If you juggle your dates and leave on Tuesday the 31st July and return Thursday the 9th (that's nine days) the cost falls to £176.
80 - a saving of £392.
80 for a family of four.
A good standard two bedroom villa with a private pool in the North East part of the island would be about £200 per day so a nine-day stay adds £400 to a weekly rental i.
e.
about the same as the saving on the flights.
So in reality you're getting two extra days for free! Enjoy.
