How to Harden a Silver Sheet
- 1). Check the silver sheet for any cracks or pitting. Precut any pieces to be used in the fabrication process. Attempting to cut the silver after it has been hardened will make the work more difficult than it needs to be.
- 2). Set the oven to 535 F and allow the temperature to stabilize for thirty minutes. Place the sheet inside the oven and heat it for two hours.
- 3). Remove the sheet using the tongs and quench the silver sheet in the bucket of water. This will render the sheet fully hard. If you want to half-harden the sheet, set the oven for 900 F and heat the metal for one hour and then quench it.
