How to Make a Christmas Card Holder Board
- 1). Lay Christmas-themed fabric right side down on work table. Lay white foam core board on top near a corner, leaving 2 inches of fabric extended on two sides.
- 2). Apply a 6-inch line of glue close to the edge of the foam board where the 2-inch excess of fabric is with a glue gun. Press the 2 inches of fabric onto the line of glue to secure it to the board. Continue applying more short lines of hot glue and pressing the remaining fabric onto the side of the board.
- 3). Turn the board over so that the right side of the fabric is facing up. Apply two 6-inch lines of hot glue close to the edge of the board opposite the secured side. Gently pull the fabric across the board and press it onto the glued lines, making sure there is a 2-inch extension of fabric on that side.
- 4). Flip the board over again with the right side of the fabric down. The front of the fabric-covered board should be nice and smooth. Use scissors to cut away fabric on the other two sides, making sure to leave 2 inches of fabric.
- 5). Apply lines of hot glue close to the edges of the foam board, and press the 2-inch edges of fabric up and onto the glue to secure it. Tuck in the fabric at the four corners to make a neat finish.
- 6). Flip the board over so the front is up. Apply a dab of hot glue near one corner, and press the end of a long strip of ribbon to it.
- 7). Apply a dab of hot glue to the opposite corner and press the other end of ribbon onto it. Cut off the excess with scissors. Repeat this to make the opposite diagonal. Add more strips of ribbon onto the board with hot glue so there are a number of evenly spaced crisscross strips of ribbon.
- 8). Add embellishments, such as shiny buttons, with hot glue where the ribbon strips cross.
