How to High Step
- 1). Stand with your legs slightly parted but at attention. Keep your hands to your side.
- 2). Bring your right leg up high so that the area from your right hip to the right knee is flat and horizontal. The knee should not be higher than your waist. Allow the lower leg to dangle down and point your toes downward. Bring the leg down, placing your foot on the ground.
- 3). Bring your left leg up high so that the area from your left hip to the left knee is flat and horizontal. Point the toes downward. Bring the leg down, placing your foot flat on the ground. This completes one revolution.
- 1). Stand with your legs together and your instrument at your side.
- 2). Take two Big Ten steps and then make a kicking motion with your right foot. The kick should be short and only a few inches above the ground.
- 3). Repeat the kick in a pattern, such as taking four Big Ten Steps followed by a kick right or 10 Big Ten Steps then a kick left.
