Reflexology Qi Gong Style
Reflexology is the art of balancing the internal organs through acupressure points on the feet.
In theory, various zones of the feet correlate energetically with the internal organs.
For example, the area of the big toe descending down towards the heel of the foot on the inner aspect of the foot corresponds with the spine.
By engaging in self-massage of this portion of the foot, you can loosen tension in the shoulders, neck, and spine.
Try this simple exercise.
Roll your neck from side to side and observe where there is relaxed tissue and where tension exists.
Then, massage your big toe at the base and rotate it as if giving your neck a massage for 3 minutes.
Massage the big toe on the opposite foot similarly.
Now roll your neck from side to side.
What did you observe? Many people experience the neck relaxing more after manipulating the feet.
At Aiki Healing, I practice a special type of reflexology that involves qi emission near the reflexology zones of the feet.
Qi emission is an energetic art of allowing energy to flow from the practitioner to the client.
Although this method is performed primarily off-the-body without massage, it is deeper than traditional reflexology as it allows deeper stimulation of the energy meridians that exist in the feet and that correlate with internal organs.
It is very effective for shifting imbalances involving the nervous system.
Thus, with this method, conditions such as neuropathy caused by diabetes (e.
g.
numb or tingling feet) or chemotherapy are greated benefited.
