Easy Meditation
There are many meditation techniques, enough to confuse anyone.
Meditation is as natural to the human body as eating or sleeping, but through a hectic life full of distractions and an uncontrolled mind, we have drifted apart from this knowledge.
Meditations is as simple as closing your eyes and focusing on your breathing, or something else, but focusing on a specific thing like a mantra, numbers, a dot on the wall, a candle light, etc.
The important thing is to focus on something with the intention of clearing your mind of all thoughts.
If you can achieve this, even for 2 or 3 minutes at a time you are meditating.
With practice you can extend the periods of time you spend in meditative state and this is when you will start to reap the benefits of this practice.
Some of the benefits of meditation are: · Expands your consciousness · Increases your happiness · Accelerates the healing process · Slows down the aging process · Creates a state of deep relaxation.
· Eliminates stress and suffering · Increases concentration and strengthens the mind · Boosts your creativity.
· Creates a general feeling of wellbeing · Strengthens your intuition.
Wikipedia's definition of meditation is: a holistic discipline by which the practitioner attempts to get beyond the reflexive, "thinking" mind into a deeper state of relaxation or awareness.
Different meditative disciplines encompass a wide range of spiritual goals-from achievement of a higher state of consciousness, compassion and loving-kindness, to greater focus, creativity or self-awareness, or simply a more relaxed and peaceful frame of mind.
There are 4 aspects to consider before starting your meditation practice: Posture: Sit in the traditional cross-legged posture or in any other position that is comfortable.
If you wish, you can sit in a chair.
The most important thing is to keep your back straight to prevent your mind from becoming sleepy or sluggish.
Location: Choose a quiet, well ventilated place where nobody can disturb you and turn your cell phone off.
Breathing: Always keep in mind that while meditating you must breathe naturally as you do when you are sleeping, breathe through your nose and don't try to control your breath.
Your mind: At first, your mind will be very busy, and you might even feel that the meditation is making your mind busier; but in reality you are just becoming more aware of how busy your mind actually is.
There will be a great temptation to follow the different thoughts as they arise, but you should resist this and remain focused on the sensation of the breath or whatever you have chosen to focus on.
If you discover that your mind has wandered off and is following your thoughts, you should immediately return it to the breath.
You should repeat this as many times as necessary until the mind settles on the breath.
Meditation, like everything worthwhile needs practice to perfect, but the rewards of conquering this skill are enormous.
In my opinion meditation is the best shortcut on the path to spiritual awakening and enlightenment.
Meditation is a big part of the Buddhist religion.
Buddha said "Meditation brings wisdom; lack of mediation leaves ignorance.
Know well what leads you forward and what hold you back, and choose the path that leads to wisdom" Be in constant expansion,
