    • 1). Wash a plain white plastic or porcelain toilet seat thoroughly with hot water and a scrub brush. Wipe dry with a clean, dry rag.

    • 2). Dampen a soft cloth with rubbing alcohol and rub over the clean toilet seat to pick up any residual soap, film or other build up. Buff the seat dry.

    • 3). Set the toilet seat face-up on a drop cloth in a garage, yard or somewhere that is well ventilated.

    • 4). Shake a can of acrylic latex primer and hold the nozzle about 10 inches away from the seat. Spray a coat of primer over the entire exposed area of the toilet seat. Allow the primer to dry completely.

    • 5). Paint the toilet seat to your liking using vinyl paint and a paintbrush. You can choose to paint the toilet seat one color, or create a specific design according to your preferences. Allow the paint to dry completely.

    • 6). Apply a coat of sealer to protect the paint from being rubbed off, chipped or cracked.
