How to Use Ammonia to Remove Wax on Wood Floors
- 1). Sweep up any dirt and dust on your hardwood floors.
- 2). Pour two gallons of water into a bucket.
- 3). Add 1/2 cup ammonia to the water.
- 4). Open up any windows that may surround the hardwood floors. Ammonia is very strong and should be used in well-ventilated areas.
- 5). Fill another bucket with just water.
- 6). Dip the mop in the ammonia solution and wring out excess liquid.
- 7). Begin to use the mop on the hardwood floors.
- 8). Clean the mop every few minutes by dipping the mop in the water bucket and wringing it out, and then dipping it again into the ammonia.
- 9). Rinse the floors by using water and a clean mop.
